Does Holmes Foods offer product for sale to the public?

Yes.  We feel that it is our responsibility to offer our community the opportunity to purchase the best chicken in the nation right here in little old Nixon, Texas.

Public sales are offered on Fridays from 9am to 1pm.

We offer a small selection of products to the public for order.   We found the most commonly requested products and cuts from the public and listed them for availability to you on scheduled days.  The purchase size and weight is designed around the way we package our product for our bulk purchase customers, as they are our primary clientele base.  We apologize for any inconvenience on the size of minimum orders.

Shane Byrd.  He is the Plant Superintendent and can be reached at the Processing Plant (830) 582 - 1551 ext. 217.  He will be able to answer any general questions or point you in the right direction.

What is Holmes Foods' animal welfare policy?

As a USDA inspected facility it is a requirement to have an animal welfare policy in place.  In addition to the minimal requirements by the government, Holmes Foods takes animal welfare a step further and bring in other animal welfare inspectors periodically throughout the year.  Aside from our annual Food Safe Audit at the processing plant, we have field audits by industry partners and outside veterinary services such as the Texas A&M Poultry Science Department.  This is on top of the outside consulting that we receive from numerous partners in the industry.
